We're gettin ready for our trip to eastern wa this weekend to see my aunt and uncle. This will be Lacey's first "vacation" and let me tell you, I'm a little nervous for the drive. It's only about 5 hours, but that's still about four times longer than she's gone before lol. We went and got her a new swimsuit, sunglasses and life jacket yesterday and she loooves the life jacket. She's been packing it around all day since we got it

The past few days
Haven't been on here for a few days, haven't been doing much since our Mother's Day expedition. Lacey has been just as crazy as ever, running around and getting into everything! Literally everything, she pulls everything out of every cabinet, throws it all over the floor and then she's on to the next thing. At least play with the damn stuff! Lol. And she has three teeth coming in to add to the emotional mix, one on each side on top, molers, and another bottom front left tooth. That makes nine teeth! Holy chompers!

Mother's Day!
My goodness, I was definitely spoiled this last Sunday and was blessed to spend my entire day with my family. We decided we'd take a day trip to the Seattle aquarium, so we made the 845 am ferry to Seattle and got into the aquarium right at 930 when they opened.
Lacey didn't quite know what to think of all the fish. She's getting to this stage where she's starting to understand fear, and I've honestly never seen that from her before. A few of the fish got a little too close for comfort and I could feel her tiny little fingers clinching the back of my arm lol
My goodness she's so cute!
She started to get a little sleepy towards the end of the aquarium, she started spacing out on a waterfall exhibit lol (which who can blame her, we woke the poor girl at 630)
After we finished up at the aquarium, it was still only like 11:00 am, so we figured, what the heck, might as well venture on up to the woodland park zoo!
On our way, we stopped and had lunch at Red Robin, Kameron had never eaten there and Lacey was getting hungry. (It took us almost a half hour driving around trying to find the damn place, we asked "Siri" on my iPhone how to get there, she recommended a place that was only 2.8 miles from our current location, well that took us twenty minutes only to find this place was an old Red Robin, had been closed for some time, and had graffiti all over the building. Thanks Siri) we eventually made it to the new restaurant and Lacey really enjoyed reading the menu with daddy.
We have arrived at the zoo! (Doesn't she look enthused?) lol
Of course she wanted to be with daddy the whole time, someone had to be in charge of the camera and it surely wasn't him. Boy, do I love them!
She didn't quite know what to think of the hippos, at least they couldn't get too close. (Which by the way, all these animals seemed like they could get out so easily)
Looking at those hippos
We got to see the giraffes pretty close to us. She thought those were pretty cool
She was determined to get a better view lol
The jaguar was quite a hit, even though I think this fell under the category of too close for comfort again
The elephants were so cool! The picture does no justice.
Looking at those huge animals.
So weird seeing a wolf!
At this point in the trip, she started getting tired again, so out came the blanket and binky. (You'd be surprised how long it takes to get around to all these places, lots of walking for us, lots of riding in the stroller for her)
Then we saw the bears! This was definitely her favorite exhibit, I'm not sure why, but she didn't even need the binky anymore! That's saying something!
( ok , maybe she did need the binky a little bit longer, but who cares! Look at those precious tiny fingers! )
Our last exhibit was the elk, and we had to walk down a boardwalk to get to them, she was really sick of being in her stroller all day, so we let her walk on her own
She was on a mission to see those elk. Love her little walk!
Could she get any cuter?!
After the elk, we managed to get out of there and head towards the ferry. It ended up being a full day event and we didn't get home until about 730. It was such an amazing day and we can't wait to bring her again! I'm thinking next year, she'll be a lot more active and we'll have to get one of those backpack leash things. ( I promised myself i would never have a child wearing one of those, but geez they look so convenient!) can't wait for our next trip to the zoo! :)

it's that time again!
it seems we are always putting clothes on lacey and they're all the sudden way smaller than the time before. so were constantly having to run out and shop, and when i mean 'run out' i mean, online shop (i dont think ive actually gone on a shopping trip, since she's been born, too much work lol)
hot pink tank, pink cuffed twill shorts, pink flip flops, brown sunglasses, ruffled denim dress, white and pink eyelet lace tank, denim skirt, wedge sandals, cream headband, pink shades, hot pink lace top, white skinny jeans, white sandals
of course she's gotta look good with the summer months fast approaching, (and let's not forget how fast they disappear around my parts) we literally get maybe a month of summer weather, and that's not consecutive days, they're strewn about throughout june-september lol

throwback thursday!
So since I decided to start this blog almost 16 months into Lacey's life (who knew I'd have so much to talk about one child ;) ) I figured I'd post some of the most memorable pictures for me and just ones I really like starting from the beginning.
day one! i can still remember this day just like it was yesterday, i remember her sweet, tiny, body so close to mine and my family was finally complete. some people like to go on and on about their labor, mine was nothing crazy, just a normal fast (4 hour) labor and our sweet princess was in our arms! Sunday January 22, 2012 at 5:49 p.m. Baby lacey weighed in at 5 lbs 11 oz, 19 inches long and just one day past her due date :)
the first few months of miss lacey's life flew by, she always slept with mommy in bed, (i think my left arm was asleep for a full three months), but it was well worth it to see her peacefully sleeping every night. we practically carried her everywhere, which turned out to be a not-so good thing, still to this day she likes to be carried lol. but she wont want to be held forever, so i'll squeeze her every possible chance i get!
this was the first picture daddy ever took of her, sitting in her bouncey seat (i was probably off trying to get a shower or something so rare)
our first little photo shoot, in a small clothes hamper filled with a throw pillow, she was so tiny!
bath time was always a favorite!
our precious dakota dog looked after her like lacey were one of her own, i trusted her with lacey from the first day she came home
this is kamerons absolute favorite picture of lace. i had to set her up against a body pillow and take the shot quick before she fell over. circa 3 months and starting to smile :)
she went through this phase of only being happy in the car when we were moving, if there was a stop sign or red light, there was a screaming baby as well. fortunately she grew out of this phase around 4 months.
we always knew she was down for the count when her hand went over her eyes during nap time or bed time. every single time she was tired, she covered her eyes as if she was sleeping beauty in need of her beauty sleep :)
her first baby doll, lucy
little bugger learned to roll over at about 4 1/2 months and thats when we realized, the bassinet was no longer safe
busy rolling around, and still pre-occupied by the tv
as you can see, her first encounter with the snow was not a pleasant one
kameron had his back injury when lacey was 9 weeks old. that didnt stop her from wanting snuggle and movie time with daddy (aahhh)
right around her six month birthday, we finally ventured out on our own and got our first place. previously, all three of us where living in a small bedroom at my dear in-laws house and we were busting at the seams, literally not one more thing could fit in that room. kameron was back to work after his injury, i had just got a job at a local bank and we were ready to move on in life. it seemed that with the new added space, lacey all the sudden was a new baby! each and every day she did something (still does) that amazed me and had me wondering what she would possibly learn next. we had so many 'firsts' in this house and the list grows every day!
she must have realized she could make funny facial expressions and receive a reaction, we saw this face every day for weeks lol
daddy finally had his own garage for all his crap wonderful stuff, and lacey loved being able to tag along with him
her taste buds starting exploding as well along with her budding teeth and all the sudden she thought she was old enough for sweet maui onion chips
we saw a tim mcgraw concert in puyallup, lacey stayed with the in-laws and the next morning i woke up extra early to see this beatiful face, maybe next year she can join in on the concert :)
who says there's an age limit on sleeping in cribs?
as well as a new house, we also adopted two lovely kittens, brother and sister. this picture was summed up on fb as 'my whole life in one frame'
baby's first trip to lake crescent! of course she didnt like the hypothermic temperature of the water, but smiling for the camera was a new favorite thing around 7 months old
look at the size of that head! at the time i didnt think anything of it, but looking back now, she had to have a big noggin to hold all the brain she's got :)
our first trip to walmart sittin in the shopping cart! she looks like she's holding on for dear life
and shortly after, we invested in a shopping cart cover, it didnt take her long to realize the metal bars felt so good on her teething gums, yuck
lacey won a cutest baby contest on facebook and was treated to a complimentary photo shoot, this one turned out to be our absolute favorite
my little duckling, gosh, isnt she just the cutest ever?!
already wants to be daddy's huntin partner
just my beautiful girl and i. kameron treated me to an iphone for my birthday and being able to see yourself while taking a picture was quite a treat for lacey and was always a sure way to get a smile
first time trying an orange! yummy daddy
grandpa matt visited great aunt and uncle in alaska and brought back this adorable onesie, "i moose have a hug" :)
wearing daddy's hat, (back to the big head thing, it almost fit lol)
oh boy, trouble just arrived. lacey pulled herself up to standing right around 8 months
we love our animals!
started getting enough hair to put in a pony, gosh i just cant get enough of her!
"mom, im ready for my big girl bed!"
fall time started to roll in for us, as did many new accomplishments for lacey. it was her first holiday season and of course we couldnt wait to spoil her!
all bundled up in the garage watching daddy work away on another one of his projects ( i say 'another' because it seems all these 'projects' just keep stacking up)
lacey got to decorate her playhouse with christmas lights! were in the spirit now!
her cute little bunting outfit for cold chilly days
sweet little pumpkin wearing leggings, boots and a cardigan for a breezy day
halloween! she was..(you guessed it) a witch! and some little red shiny boots to match :)
with cold weather outside, i opted for her first sensory bin which consisted of 'moon sand' (flour and baby oil) and some farm animals. lets just say it didnt stay in the bin and the activity only lasted about 5 minutes. on to the next thing mom!
beautiful baby girl always smiling
fall also means hunting season. her first trip to uncle darrell's meat shop consisted of daddy letting grandpa mark show her some raw meat. ewww but lacey got a kick out of it
im still not sure why we decided to get another puppy, but we did, welcome bailey to the family
they have been inseparable ever since
they both look pretty damn guilty to me. thats an ornament from our christmas tree laying on the ground and neither one fessed up hehe
the new dog bed served better as a bed for our big baby. she got more use out of it than the dog!
christmas is the best holiday of all! just ask lace!
the day we got our christmas tree! we were so excited!
on christmas morning, santa brought lacey her very own pony
hey, we had to keep her entertained somehow, and if that meant an extremely large sugar-filled candy cane, then so be it, we have a toothbrush :)
she loves her dakota dog still! shes even sharing the nasty amazing blanket in this pic
my amazing family of three on our first christmas together!
this photo is just priceless. pure innocence and fascination. what i'd give to live like that again and make sure to take the time to see everything in the present
once christmas was over, that meant we had four weeks to get ready for the big girls first birthday party, and when i say get ready, i mean, tell our wallets it will all be over soon
and there she is with her very own smash cake!
theres that grump face i was mentioning earlier, its coming back to life
"what am i supposed to do with all this?"
opening her gifts from the 40+ people that attended
and again with the face "stop taking pictures right this instant!"
shes back! that amazing smiley lovey girl
uncle blake
oh just kidding, there she is again! lol
the princess and her daddy (who's wrapped around her pinky finger)
i cant believe im sitting here reminiscing on an entire year of my beautiful daughters life. i guess it really is true that time flies! just wish she would slow down and be my baby for a little bit longer! after the holidays and birthday came, there was easter and many more non-holiday memories to cherish
first ferry ride with mommy and grandma!
she loves her westside pizza nights with daddy
more easter
our beautiful family on our first easter together (the first was spent in a harborview hospital bed and lacey couldnt join)
lol. just snoozing away. do they make cribs for adults?
pushing her babies all throughout the house. what a good little mommy
visiting her cousin addison for the day (soon to be partners in crime)
baby girl in pearls
ferry ride home from edmonds
im getting closer and closer to the present with all these pictures, the next few are the most recent but it saddens me to see her growing up!
her first trip to the park! there were so many other kids that she wanted to make friends with but we stuck to the slide for this trip
a little fieldtrip to daddy's job site. what a bright smile even with all the bugs!
lacey got a bike! woo hoo! so stylin
day trip to rialto beach, little windy but definetly worth it for the view
boy oh boy does she look like her dad
yummy okasan salad
cutie pie
snuggle time with daddy. he always does it best, just look at those precious little fingers and wavy curls, to die for! cant forget the blanky!
always smiling away for the camera!
i think that about brings us here! still cant comprehend how fast these past almost 16 months have gone. i promise to stay up to date after this! at least i better, ive been typing this for three hours! :)
